STATUS: Chi Blocker and newly minted Air Bender after Harmonic Convergence.

POWER:

Chi Blocking: Naklin had been a chi blocking recruit during the Equalist reign and he excelled at it.  While he never quite reached the level of chi blocking master Naklin is still a proficient and effective blocker, able to take down a enemy with relative ease. 

Martial Arts: Naklin was no stranger to fights growing up, having a severe case of middle child syndrome with his fair share of scraps with others but it wasn't until he joined the Equalist did he learn how to fight properly as part of his training. 

Superior Flexibility: Another skill learned during his chi blocker training, Naklin has the agility and flexibility that the chi blockers were known for and he practices daily to maintain his flexibility. 

Air Bending: A new skill and one he keeps hidden.  Naklin hasn't been able to fully get a handle on his new powers..hes not even sure he wants to after having found a place in the world. However, his constant worry that he will have a slip up in front of Jin and the other former Fist/Equalist members has made Naklin practice his airbending in secret if for nothing else to make sure that doesnt happen.  While the powers are still new he gets a little bit better and a little more control every day. 

ORIENTATION: Heterosexual

SCARS AND MARKINGS: lots of small scars from training accidents and a few larger scrapes and burns that’s he gotten from going up against benders during the Equalist occupation and later, in the fighting rings.

UNIFORM: Naklin dresses rather casual compared to some of the others in the Black Hand. While most of the higher ranks like him will wear suits and other expensive clothes Naklin likes to be comfortable and wears things that allow him ease of movement. Usually he can be found in a pair of brown or grey pants with a white tank and a jacket or some kind of plain black/grey/blue shirt. Naklin can and will dress up when the situation calls for it or he has to make an impression on the high ranking officials of the Triad but normally he will stick to basic, comfortable clothing.

DESCRIPTION:  Naklin is 6'1" with a strong, muscular build.  Years of helping his father or doing odd jobs in the Northern Tribe helping to build up his muscle.

Fear: His biggest fear at the moment is his people finding out about his bending abilities.  Naklin knows how they feel about benders, knows what they used to do to benders for fun and he doesn't want to be on the receiving end of that.  Naklin is also cautious of Jaya.  While he wouldn't say hes exactly afraid of her he doesn't think shes someone he wants to cross outright.  Even if he doesn't like working under her he is biding his time because Naklin knows if he tries anything on his own he is as good as dead. 

Naklin also has a bit of fear about Neva.  Ever since the Black Hand formed he has heard her name once or twice.  He doesn't know why or what she could have possibly done to get on the Hands radar but despite his misgivings with his family she is still just that, family and if something happened to her he would be crushed. 

Desire: Naklin always wanted to be like the rest of his family. For years he wished for bending abilities. Even after joining up with the Equliast and later the Platinum Fist Naklins deepest, most guarded desire was to be a bender but, now that he has bending abilities Naklin isn’t sure what to think. Which, is why he keeps them secret..not sure if he wants or is willing to lose the place hes carved for himself with his fellow non benders.



HABITS: Naklin will chew on his nails when he gets bored.



PET PEEVE: His family would be considered a peeve and benders in general even if he is now one of them.



STRENGTHS:

• Quick Learner: Naklin has always been a quick study, he can watch someone do something and while it might take him a couple of tries he is able to copy whatever he was shown with ease.  It is useful when it comes to training, his ability to quickly grasp things is what moved him up the Equalist ranks and how he was able to learn chi blocking so fast. 

• Observant: Naklin is a man of few words, he prefers to watch and listen to others around him to get a feel of a situation.  First impressions matter and Naklin will form a opinion of a person from watching how they interact with others around him.  His ability to watch and pick up on people make him good to have in questionable situations, Naklin will oftentimes pick up on a shift in a room or person before something big is about to happen.  It has saved his skin more than once. 



WEAKNESSES:


• Distant: The fallout from his family left a bitter taste in Naklins mouth and he has kept people at arms length ever since. Naklin doesn't like anyone to get too close to him and if he feels like they are he will either pull himself away or push that person away by various means.

• Cares too much: Naklin might be at odds with his family and remain distant from most but he does so because deep down he is afraid that if anyone gets close to him they will hurt and betray him like he feels his family did. It causes a lot of inner turmoil for Naklin and is something he doesn't really know how to handle. This conflict is what usually leads to him lashing out at others.



TRAITS:

Naklin has always been on the quiet side. Observant as a child he prefers to sit, watch and listen to what is going on around him and has always been good at reading people. His quiet nature had always made him a bit of a outcast with a few close friends but Naklin was fine with that. He didn’t need lots of friends just the small handful he had and his family. As he grew older and realized that he was not just a late bloomer with his bending Naklin slowly began to grow bitter and resentful which lead to him lashing and acting out. Naklin became volatile with a short fuse and would routinely get into fights with anyone within shouting distance.

His attitude has evened out somewhat as he grew out of his teen angst but Naklin is still broody and a bit melancholy but with his acceptance into the Equalist and his position in the Black Hand he has learned to hide this well. A skill that comes in handy when he realized he was a airbender.

A very bright young man, Naklin is able to grasp things from just observing or after a few attempts and he will practice them until he reaches a proficiency with them. A useful ability because it allows him to observe the airbenders the go home and practice in private without the use of a teacher.

HISTORY:



Growing up the only nonbender in a family of waterbenders made Naklin bitter and resentful. He constantly wondered what was wrong with him, why he had to be the only different one and that bitterness lead Naklin to leave his family and find others like him in Republic City. It didn’t take long for Naklin to fall into the Equalist crowd and he was a loyal supporter of the cause until the betrayal and fall of Amon. He was able to avoid arrest by going underground and Naklin stayed there, bumming around with the cities vagabond’s in their underground cities. It was in one of these tent cities where he heard rumor about a new Triad, a nonbending Triad that had began making a name for itself. Naklin quickly joined with the Fist and found that many of the other former Equalist had the same idea. Once again Naklin had a place where he belonged and he thrived there.

But, soon, that all changed.

In the aftermath of convergence Naklin found himself with new airbending abilities. Sometimes it’s funny how the universe worked. Naklin had finally found a place where he could belong and now thanks to harmonic convergence he was once again an outcast. Knowing that he would be ostracized or worse from the Fist if they ever found out Naklin hid his bending and would practice in secret to gain control.

Things once again started to spiral out of control with the death of Ula and Jins willingness to side with and join the Black Hand. There had been a lot of protest among the Fist but the strongest came from the ex Equalist and Naklin was sure it was going to start a war within the group. He was half right as those that were opposed did try to start something but they were quickly put down and snuffed out. Despite his..strong disagreement in aligning with “The Shadow” Naklin had been smart enough to remain out of that battle knowing he had no more room to disagree thanks to his bending and when the dust finally settled he joined Jin and what remained of the Fist in the new Triad.

Thanks to his loyalty Naklin was rewarded by Jin and placed in charge of one of the weapons facilities and things, while not ideal, haven’t been bad. Though, he has heard his sisters name thrown around by a few of the Hands members. Even if it has been three years since he'd seen her and despite their differences Neva is his little sister and if she had somehow gotten herself into some trouble with the Black Hand then that might cause a conflict on interest on his part.
