Writing Contest Rules

Rules:

• Must be at least 1000 words minimum
  

  
  -All entries must be written as 'one shots' and the final length of the story is up to the writer, as long as the entry meets the 1000 word minimum.

  
  
  
• Only one entry per member per month
  
  

  -If you wish to write more you are allowed but only one may be submitted for voting.

  
  
  
• Must include all topics highlighted in challenge
  
  

  -If a entry fails to include all topics of the contest you will not be elidable for voting
  
  Example: the months contest requires the use or mention of a Sandbenders sail, a buzzard wasp and a tea cup all three of these must be mentioned. If a entry does not include all of these the author will be given a chance to fix their submission given there is time left before the challenge closes.
  
  That being said, all topics must make sense in your story, you can not just have your character say or think the word 'tea cup' and be done with it, there must be some mention or interaction with the object.

  
  
  
• Contest entries may either include canon or oc characters from this forum.
  

  
  -If you choose to write with a oc that is not yours you must get permission from that characters player.

  
  
  
• Must follow rules of the forum
  
  

  -No exceptions will be made.

  
  
  
• All entries must be submitted within the allotted time or they will not be considered for judgement.
  
  

  - All members who choose to participate will have two (2) weeks to get their work submitted, after the two week mark no other stories will be considered for voting..However, you will still be allowed to post your story for everyone's enjoyment should you so wish.
  
  Once the two week mark passes members will have one week to read through all entries and vote for their favorite. The winner will be announced at the end of the voting week.

  
  
  
• Winners will be determined via vote once all entries are received.
  

  
  -The number of times a member is allowed to vote may vary by week depending on how many entries are submitted.

  
  
  

Prizes:

• The winning story will be featured on the forum as well as the forums Tumblr for the duration of the month and until a next winner is picked.
  
  
• The winning author will have the right to pick the next promt or key words used for the proceeding contest.
